Jaipur: The state is experiencing a spike in heatstroke cases. According to health department officials, the state has reported 170 heatstroke cases so far. These affected persons were directly subjected to high temperatures.
The rising mercury levels throughout the state contributed to the growing number of heatstroke cases. Officials from the health department said they established necessary facilities across the state to provide treatment for affected patients.
“Necessary measures have been implemented across the state for preventing heatstroke cases, treatment, and management,” said Dr Narrottam Sharma, state nodal officer (climate change), health department.
The department reserved beds for heatstroke cases in hospitals for immediate treatment.
He said the department is in touch with the meteorological department for weather-related alerts. The department is issuing weather-related alerts to districts in the morning, asking them to take necessary action according to the heat-related alert sent by it.
The department made arrangements for the initial management of heatstroke in govt ambulances.
