A complete blackout was enforced across parts of Jammu and Kashmir late Wednesday night after suspected Pakistani drones and a low-range missile targeted sensitive military zones, including the Jammu airport. Sirens blared across the Akhnoor sector and other parts of the Jammu Division, including Samba, as explosions were reported near the airport area. Residents were urged to stay indoors as security forces heightened surveillance and response measures under high alert.

According to defence sources, the Indian armed forces successfully intercepted a low-range missile fired from across the border. In addition, a Pakistani drone was shot down near Jammu, preventing what could have been a major security breach.

Simultaneous drone activity was also reported in Udhampur, Akhnoor, and Pathankot, sparking concerns over coordinated aerial threats. Authorities ordered a precautionary blackout in multiple areas to minimize visibility of strategic targets and prevent any potential civilian harm.

As of now, no casualties have been reported. Security forces continue to scan the airspace and conduct counter-drone operations as tensions remain elevated in the region following India’s Operation Sindoor.

Further updates are awaited as the situation develops.
