Priyank Kharge directs officials to prepare action plan to improve SSLC and PUC results in Kalaburagi

In light of a significant drop in SSLC and PUC examination results in Kalaburagi district, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, and Kalaburagi district in-charge Priyank Kharge instructed the Education Department officials to prepare a comprehensive blueprint to improve academic outcomes in the district.
During a meeting held at his office in Bengaluru on Wednesday (May 7, 2025) with V. Rashmi, Principal Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy, and Akash S, Additional Commissioner (Kalaburagi Division) of the Department, the minister emphasised the urgent need to implement strategic programs aimed at enhancing the district’s educational standards.
Pointing to Kalaburagi’s poor performance in SSLC and PUC this year, the minister said the examination results highlighted the need for immediate attention and intervention to uplift the academic quality in the district. He remarked that education is a critical indicator of societal progress and is heavily influenced by social and economic factors.
Stressing the importance of measurable academic progress, the minister directed officials to conduct a thorough study of the district’s educational shortcomings and devise effective solutions. He told them to treat the issue with seriousness and ensure substantial improvement in learning outcomes.
To this end, the minister has instructed the Education Department to formulate a district-specific action plan for the current academic year, with a focus on improving the quality of education across Kalaburagi.
