Karnataka: Girls outshine boys in SSLC in Kalaburagi district

Girl students in Kalaburagi district have outshone the boys in SSLC examinations, the results of which were announced on Friday.
Of the total 20,086 girls who appeared for exams, 10.152 of them cleared the examination with a pass percentage of 50.54; and as many as 6,508 boys cleared the exam against the total of 19,177 with a pass percentage of 33.94.
As many as 39,263 students (including girls and boys) appeared for exams, of which 16,660 students passed, with a pass percentage of 42.43.
As per the data provided by officials at Additional Commissioner Public Instructions, Kalaburagi Division, the girls in the Kalaburagi district who studied in government schools recorded 46.79 pass percent and pass percent of boys stood at 30.04. The pass percent of students studied in aided school was – girls ( 40.70 percent) and boys (23.60 percent); the pass percentage of students in unaided institutions is- girls (61.93 percent) and boys ( 41.56 percent).
The girls proved their mettle with a pass percentage of 54.20 percent in urban and 47.59 percent in rural areas; while the boys pass percentage was 38.07 percent in urban regions and it was 30.75 in rural schools in the district.
