Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s task force teams have continued their inspections of the hostels in the city. On Saturday (May 24), the teams inspected the hostels in Srinagar Colony, Lalitha Nagar in LB Nagar zone, Dilsukhnagar, Kukatpally Housing Board, Moosapet, Vinayaknagar, and Patrika Nagar in Serilingampally zone.

On the second day, a total 60 hostels were inspected, and notices were issued to 38 hostel managements over various violations. Closure orders were issued to seven hostel kitchens for not maintaining standards, a statement from GHMC informed. On Friday, the teams visited 58 hostels in Ashoknagar, Dilsukhnagar and Ameerpet, and issued notices to 30 of them . Eight kitchens were closed down. Most common violations observed were lack of hygiene, unauthorised use of cellars and parking spaces for kitchens, and absence of trade and FSSAI licenses.
