Following the win, LSG jump to 6th spot, with 12 points in 13 games. The win takes them above Kolkata Knight Riders, who were previously one spot ahead of them. As for GT, their top spot remains untouched, with their 18 points from 12 games enough to keep them at the summit. However, a win for Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday will result in the Titans dropping down to second, while a win for Punjab Kings on Saturday can possibly push them down to third. The loss also puts GT’s top two finish under doubt, with them needing to win against Chennai Super Kings to reclaim the top spot.
