BJP national vice president and MP Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda on Monday said that Pakistan is steadily losing the global narrative battle, with its disinformation campaigns being exposed and rejected by much of the international community.
In a conversation with CNN-News 18, Panda emphasised that India will continue to counter Pakistan’s propaganda with facts, particularly regarding cross-border terrorism.
“Terrorism can’t be tolerated. We are victims of cross-border terrorism, and everyone knows Pakistan remains the main fermenter of it,” he said.
He further disputed the notion of Pakistan gaining any diplomatic momentum, highlighting its increasing isolation.
“I don’t agree that Pakistan is winning any narrative war. They’ve lost on every front-economy, diplomacy, and now perception. Their narrative is being seen through. Only those with a direct interest in Pakistan’s politics continue to back them-and even they are dwindling,” he noted.
Disinformation Campaign Under Global Lens
India has continuously highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to distort global perception through misinformation, fake social media accounts, and selective leaks to sympathetic media outlets. Panda warned against falling for such tactics and urged Indian representatives to be mindful when engaging the media.
“Some global media platforms have clearly run an agenda. I would advise my colleagues and delegates to be cautious with their words while engaging with them,” he said.
Diplomatic Outreach
As part of India’s global outreach after Operation Sindoor, Panda, a member of the delegation set to visit key partner countries of India, stated that the group will engage with politicians, journalists, and diaspora members, key figures in challenging Pakistan’s misinformation campaigns overseas.
“We’ll present facts to the world. The diaspora has a critical role to play in reinforcing the truth and pushing back against Pakistan’s fabricated stories,” he said.
A seven-member all-party delegation is set to visit key partner countries, including members of the UN Security Council.
Panda’s remarks align with a broader Indian strategy: steadfastly countering disinformation with evidence, securing global support, and maintaining diplomatic consistency to undermine Pakistan’s credibility.
