A bridge constructed across the Bhadra river, which is part of the improvement of the national highway-13 connecting Chitradurga and Shivamogga, was opened for vehicles on Tuesday.

The improvement of the 106-km road connecting Chitradurga and Shivamogga had been taken up at a cost of ₹518 crore. Of that, ₹80 crore had been spent on the bridge. For many years, the travellers on the highway demanded the bridge.
