The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has issued a statement expressing concern over a viral video showing a senior citizen allegedly misbehaving with a woman passenger aboard a BMTC bus.

The incident reportedly took place on Monday around 3.30 pm on bus number KA 51 F 6204, operating on route 276/22 near Vidyaranyapura. The video, widely shared on social media, shows a confrontation between an elderly man and the woman, prompting public outrage.

BMTC said it has taken cognizance of the incident. “BMTC reiterates its zero-tolerance policy towards any form of harassment or misconduct against women passengers,” the corporation said in a statement on Tuesday.

BMTC added that it is committed to ensuring passenger safety and will take appropriate action if a formal complaint is filed.
