Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday took a swipe at the Opposition-led INDI Alliance as he shared the stage with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, saying, “Aaj ka event bahut logon ki need kharab kar dega (Today’s event is going to disturb the sleep of many).”

Speaking during the inauguration event of Vizhinjam port in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram, PM Modi said, “I want to tell the Chief Minister, you are a strong pillar of INDI alliance, Shashi Tharoor is also sitting here. Today’s event is going to disturb the sleep of many.”

Interestingly, adding fuel to the fire, it was noticed that the plaque that the Prime Minister unveiled also mentions the name of Congress leader Shashi Tharoor.

Tharoor was also seen sharing the stage with PM Modi, along with other leaders.

It is important to note that Tharoor at several occasions has spoken in favour of the BJP-led central government and landed in trouble with his own party, Congress, criticising him. In fact, last month, Tharoor admitted that he was left with “an egg on his face” for opposing India’s neutral stance on the Russia-Ukraine war when it began in 2022.

The Congress leader recently supported the Indian government over the Pahalgam issue and said that everyone was waiting to see the Centre’s response to the terror attack and added that accountability on the government for potential lapses can be addressed later.

PM Modi Commissions Vizhinjam Seaport In Kerala

In a big development, Minister Narendra Modi officially commissioned the Vizhinjam International Seaport on Friday in Kerala. The port in Thiruvananthapuram district is expected to transform India’s role in international trade and shipping.

The Prime Minister was in Kerala to officially commission the Vizhinjam port, placing Kerala firmly on the global maritime map.

The deep-water port has been developed by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), India’s largest port developer and part of the Adani Group, under a public-private partnership. The project was completed at an estimated cost of Rs 8,867 crore.
